For Rent Family Home Felpham

Belfairs is a wonderful, substantial 1930’s house with a stylish interior. It is set in a plot of 1/4 of an acre on the private Summerley Estate in Felpham, West Sussex. It is situated just one row back from the sea and is approx a 1 minute walk to the quiet beach.  The house is 15 minutes’ drive to Goodwood, the South Downs National Park and likewise to the historic towns of Arundel and Chichester.

The house is extremely spacious (over 2,000 sq ft) with tasteful décor and is full of character. It is very well laid out for guests to enjoy both a holiday by the sea or walking on the South Downs.

There are beautiful wooden floors throughout the ground floor also make it practical and dog friendly (£25 charge per dog per week). The living room is very large with 3 sofas and a working fire with a brand new top of the range 50″ Panasonic TV in the sitting room+ DVD player. There is a well-equipped kitchen/breakfast room (with second TV) and adjoining dining room which seats 8 as well as a cloakroom.

There is a huge sun room/utility room with 2 sofas to relax and enjoy the sunshine which streams in through the huge windows.  This room also has an extra fridge, washing machine and plenty of space for walking boots and beach paraphernalia.  There is a shower room adjoining this room.

Upstairs there are 2 very large and bright bedrooms with windows looking towards the sea and 3 further spacious bedrooms taking the maximum sleeping capacity to 10. The master bedroom has an en suite shower room and there is also a family bathroom on this floor.  There are 5 bedrooms in all: the master bedroom has a kingsize bed, bedroom 2 has 3 single beds, bedroom 3 and 4 have double beds and bedroom 5 has a single bed which has a hand basin in the room.  Guests should be aware that the staircase, as shown in the photographs, are polished wood and therefore guests should only go up and down wearing shoes or with bare feet to avoid the possibility of slipping.  There is a chunky Rope banister on the stairs making it safer and more attractive

There is a fabulous garden of ¼ acre with different areas for guests to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and lazy BBQs on a summer’s day with five sun loungers. There is parking for 3 or more cars.  Additional parking vouchers can be requested in advance so those with more than 3 cars can park in the street.  From Autumn 2021 two cameras which face away from the house will be monitoring the drive & the personal gate areas. The cameras record only on motion detection that is in their field of view, the recordings are stored for a maximum of 7 days, then they are automatically deleted.

As Belfairs is at the end of the private estate cul de sac it is not only moments from the beach but there are very few cars who pass making it really safe getting children and dogs down to the sea.

The sea near the house has very low currents and this area is widely considered to be among the safest in the county.  The children will also love the exciting rockpools which are exposed at low tide down towards Middleton on Sea.

Arundel is only 11 miles from Goodwood Racecourse and Motor  Circuit which are the homes of the infamous Goodwood Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and Glorious Goodwood making it the top destination for accommodation over the festivals.

Lovely family Christmas - Great property very close to beach and ideal for an extended family group traveling from the US to be with UK based family. Wonderfully thoughtful host had put up a beautiful Christmas tree and provided wood for the open fire. Many amazing memories created in a very family friendly house. Thank you.

The house was so lovely, clean and really homely. It had everything we needed. The beach just outside the house was an amazing bonus. Laura was always there if we needed anything and made sure everything was to our satisfaction . Definitely would recommend staying here.

We had a fantastic week at Belfairs. It really is a great house that has absolutely everything you could ask for. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Judy - August 2022

This is a very well presented 1930's style house, with relaxing accommodation, but with all mod cons. There is a large garden that encourages outdoor living. The house is located on a very elegant and peaceful private estate. It really is only 100yards to the beach and a fully paved promenade that leads all the way into Bognor Regis. This is ideal for daily walks or runs. The owners provide a very comprehensive information pack of local facilities. Excellent pubs are within a short stroll and the recommended fish & chip shop is one of the best.

Belfairs is a fantastic property. It’s very close to the beach but in a quiet location. The kitchen was very well-equipped and the rooms were all well-furnished and comfortable. Our family of 8 enjoyed our stay and the children didn’t want to leave.

A fabulous property with many original period features which give this large house a homely and comfortable feel. Beautifully furnished and equipped with great communication form host and owner. A very peaceful sunny garden too front and back. . The cul de sac is safe enough for children to bike etc too. The whole area is charming especially if you walk up towards Elmer both on the roads next to the beach and on the coastal path itself. Worth noting the tide times on the beach near the house if you want to ensure there's enough sand to 'play' with. Lobster pot was great for a sunny beachside lunch - turn up and queue, dog friendly!

Rosie - September 2021

Amazing house and the location is perfect. Had a wonderful time here and Laura is a great house. Would recommend to anyone.

George - June 2021

This is a really lovely delightful homely home. So clean, everything you need is provided to bake or mesure or cook.. and big large pans too. Just like a real home. Garden is completely enclosed and perfect for a little dog and children. Everywhere is spacious and comfortable, I really highly recommend this. I will be back again soon I hope. There was Proseco in the fridge with a hand written note, and ice in the huge freeze left for us, and also flowers in the main rooms, and lots of soap and even a cupboard with essentials left by other guests and I think that's just really nice, and all so well explained. Tesco Express through a little walk in the fields in 10 mins you're there. The moment you walk on the path to the pebbled beach ( that's like not even one minute from the house, ) you smell the sea air and you feel immediately happy. It's so good to be in a quiet little place with no noises at all. I'd give this a ten star.
