This lovely period cottage is located on Tarrant St, right in the heart of Arundel. There is a double reception room, family kitchen, cloakroom and bright conservatory/dining room on the ground floor. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms, an en suite shower room and a family bathroom. There is a beautiful garden with summer house.

The front door opens into a porch for coats and shoes and then through a doorway into the living area, which has a cosy arrangement of sofas and chairs around the fireplace. There is a second seating area with TV which leads in through double doors into the newly renovated kitchen. The kitchen is warm and welcoming and there is a wonderful range to cook on, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. The kitchen opens into the light and airy dining room/conservatory with seating for up to 6 guests.

There are steps up to a glorious garden. Please be aware that these steps (as well as the stairs to the top floor) are not easy for those with mobility issues and means that this property is not suitable for children under 12. A path leads you amongst the plants up to the summer house, which has romantic swinging chairs on either side of the veranda. This is a perfect place to read and relax.

Upstairs is a spacious bathroom with bath and shower and there are 2 pretty double bedrooms on the first and second floors, with an en suite off the top floor bedroom..

Arundel is a tiny market town and you will not need a car if you are planning a town break – there is plenty to do with the pleasure of visiting Arundel Castle (open May to October), Arundel Cathedral, antique shopping, visiting cafes and local pubs and incredible walks right from your door. If you would like to explore further afield there are beautiful National Trust properties in the area, the beach is just a short drive away and there are many other places of historical interest. For those who enjoy racing Goodwood hosts some of the most prestigious races of the horseracing calendar and is less than 20 minutes drive from town.

This cottage is lived in by the owners for much of the year so you will find a few cupboards etc are not for guest use but it has the warm and personal feel of a much loved home. Guests are requested to treat everything with the special respect that they would if staying with a friend! Well behaved dogs are allowed (£25 per dog per week) but they are not allowed on furniture or the beds and they are not allowed to be left alone in the cottage.

Please note we do not accept Goodwood bookings for less than 4 nights and minimum booking length over Easter is 2 weeks.

Reviews

Had a lovely stay at Laura’s place during Goodwood Revival. Location is fab being about a 20 min taxi to the event. Lovely new bathroom. Plenty of living space. Great kitchen. Parking was pretty easy just down the street. Lots of restaurants walking distance. Would definitely stay again.

We had a great time and Laura was a fantastic host. The place itself was fabulous, very nicely put together and a lovely mix of usable and uncluttered. Despite being close to the middle of Arundel, it was also very quiet. We really enjoyed visiting the Castle and found that Arundel was a great spot for walking and for day trips along the South Downs and towards the coast. Laura was the perfect host, too. Prompt, helpful communication, and very friendly throughout. Parking on the street was a bit tricky at times, but there were plenty of other places to park so it was not an issue for us. Thoroughly recommended.
