Set on one of the prettiest roads in Arundel no 27 Maltravers is ideally located, being a few minutes’ walk from the centre of town. With old beams befitting its age, a working fireplace in the kitchen and a spacious south-facing terraced garden, this is the quintessential English country cottage. The large kitchen at the front of the house is well-equipped and has a working open fire. The French doors at the rear of the spacious living/dining room lead to the south-facing garden which gets sun for most of the day. The path to the side of the garden, separated from it by an ornate ironwork fence, leads to a twitten (rear passageway) to the town centre. Please note the garden is private but the pathway is also for the use of the next-door neighbour. There is a small drop of approximately a foot between terrace and path so do be aware of this if you are thinking of coming with very young children. The garden is terraced in stone and brick, is decorated with many ceramic pots, and has various levels, so guests should be aware that young children should be closely supervised.
Off the large landing upstairs are the two beautiful bedrooms and a family bathroom with bath and shower. The master bedroom has a super-king bed which can be split into two single beds and bedroom two has a double bed. Both rooms are charming and spacious and have a wonderful cottagey feel. We have a z bed if you need to take maximum capacity up to 5 guest which is charged at an additional £13 per night.
Well behaved dogs are welcome but they are not allowed on furniture, upstairs or to be left in the property unattended. There is a £25 charge per week to bring your dog.
Arundel is only 11 miles from Goodwood Racecourse and Motor Circuit which are the homes of the infamous Goodwood Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and Glorious Goodwood making it the top destination for accommodation over the festivals.
