For Rent Cottage Arundel
4 Max Guests
2 bedrooms
2 bathrooms

Arundel Cottage is a quaint and charming 18th Century Holiday home with two good size bedrooms, two bathrooms and secluded patio.

This dog-friendly cottage is just a few meters from Arundel’s fabulous High Street and wonderful walking along the banks of the River Arun or up into glorious Arundel Park and the South Downs.

The cottage was formerly a Public House and once owned by a notorious local smuggler during the late 1700’s. It retains lots of its original charm and history. The front door opens directly into the living room which has a cosy electric woodburner to sit around on a cold winter’s day but guests will also love the bright feel of the kitchen and dining room which leads out onto the patio at the back of the house.

Well behaved dogs are welcome but they are not allowed on the furniture, upstairs or to be left unattended at the property.  There is a charge of £25 per dog for stays up to 7 days and £25 for each subsequent week.

There is no private parking but there is limited free parking directly outside the cottage or along Mill Road past the castle. Guests can also use Crown Yark car park which is just around the corner from the cottage.

Arundel is a favourite with guests who come each year to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and one of the country’s most prestigious horse racing meetings – Glorious Goodwood. Nearby attractions include Arundel Castle, Arundel Cathedral, Petworth House, Fishbourne Palace, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the glorious sandy beaches of the Witterings as well as more local stony beaches stretching from Littlehampton to Chichester.

Please note we do not accept Goodwood bookings for less than 4 nights.

Perfect location for our weekend break in Arundel. Very central, but such a quiet, comfortable and warm cottage, perfect to come back to after some beautiful autumnal walks on the downs. The cottage had everything we needed for a much needed restorative weekend break.

Andrew - November 2025

Attractive, comfortable, and liveable character cottage accommodation perfectly located in the beautiful old town of Arundel. One of my best Airbnb picks ever. I wouldn’t look further if I had the chance to come back. Laura was really easy-going and really helpful. Thanks Laura!

David - August 2025

We had a great stay at the cottage. Right in the centre of the town, everything we wanted to do was walkable for us. The cottage was beautiful and warm with everything we needed. We were there to relax mid winter - reading, walks, lazy brunches and pub meals - and it was perfect for this.

Catherine - February 2025

The house was in a perfect location in central Arundel which made it very walkable to all parts of the town. The inside of the house was well decorated, well equipped and a perfect size for the four of us plus a baby. Our favorite thing about the house was the sunroom especially when it rained and you could hear the rain hitting the roof. Parking isn’t always available right outside the house, but there are plenty of parking spaces a short walk away. We would definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Arundel.

David - February 2025

A beautifully kept cottage with a lot of charm. We felt right at home immediately. Two lovely bedrooms and bathrooms and a practical kitchen for cooking. Would recommend.

This was our second year of staying here and I would happily go back again a third time. Excellent location in a lovely town. The cottage is well equipped with everything you might need, very clean and comfortable. It’s in the centre of town but very quiet at night. Lots of good pubs and restaurants very close to hand so you don’t need to drive if you don’t want to. Bedrooms are quite spacious and well furnished with attractive decor throughout. I just really like it there!

Robert - August 2024

A lovely cottage on the edge of Arundel just by the river. A great location with shops and pubs minutes away on foot. The cottage had everything we needed for our four day stay. Would definitely recommend.

Paul - December 2023

Fantastic stay at Arundel Cottage with everything we needed and more. It’s a beautiful, comfortable cottage in a great location. Very glad we picked it for our trip to Arundel!

Tamara - September 2023

Lovely cottage in the middle of town. Car park just round the corner. Arundel is full of nice eateries, quirky shops, nice walks and lots of history. Cottage is small but comfortable for two couples.

Moira - July 2023

This a lovely property in a great location, walkable to everything and a homely place to return to. I'd be happy to recommend having spent a really nice week there. Thanks Laura much appreciated. Regards Nick and Jenny.

Nick - June 2023

The cottage is tastefully furnished overall, you feel very welcome there as a guest. Nothing is missing in the kitchen. The two bedrooms are lovingly furnished. The location of the cottage is excellent, in the middle of the village, but still quiet Shops are within a few minutes walk, just great. All in all simply recommendable.

Melanie - April 2023

This cottage is perfect for two couples or a family. It is equipped with everything you could need and in a wonderful location in the centre of Arundel. Arundel itself offers lots to see and do including excellent restaurants and cafes, and there is a huge range of things to see and do in the surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed the wetland bird park, the Weald open air museum and the village of Amberley.

Robert - September 2022

Wonderful stay in the centre of Arundel. Walking distance to everything. Very nice place indeed.

Nick - May 2022

Really beautiful cottage in a great location in a wonderful town. House felt really cosy and was easy to pop to the various cafes, shops and restaurants as well as the nearby train station which took us to lots of nearby spots.

Liam - June 2021

We had a lovely stay in Arundel Cottage. The cottage was beautifully presented and well thought out and equipped with everything we needed. We loved the location of the cottage and the ease of accessing the town centre. Arundel itself has a lot to offer too.
